Some promo pics for CSI: NY 5x07 were posted in the pics and spoiler threads: talk.csifiles.com/showpost.php and some of us started saying that it looks like Flack and Angell are doing more than the flirting TPTB said they'd be doing. OK, no problem. We also said why we wouldn't like it to go past flirting. Still no problem. It was also brought up that Adam might be asking Stella on a date. Yep. no problem. Then these comments popped up:
Fanit #1 said: Yeah I was hoping all the Flack/Angell stuff would still be more background for now... Not that I'm not thrilled Flack is getting more stories I've just always been a little... underwhelmed by Angell... Though I suppose I'm biased because I have my own AU ship that while I know will never happen I'm still rather attached to it (see banner).
Fanit #2 (a Mac/Stella shipper) said: Adam and Stella dating? Not a chance!! He is so not her type and a bit to young, but him having a crush on her I can see. I'm thinking more Adam and Flacks sister and I think somewhere along the line he askd Stellas advice or somthing to do with it.
Fanit #3 responds to Fanit #1: Same here. I think it's partly because I feel that the more Angell is on the show, the less screentime Flack will have, and partly because my OT(het)P is Flack and Stella for ever!
Fanit #1 comes back and adds: As for Adam and Stella...?? What the hell were the writers smokin' when they felt like that was a good idea?? Or is Adam going to turn into some crazy stalker now too.
So fictional characters can't hook up on a show because you personally don't ship them together?? And if Adam asks Stella out he is obviously some psycho because Stella can only attract psychos?? I don't really ship anyone seriously. There are pairings I like more than others and I read fanfic for a bunch of pairings, but I wouldn't call myself a shipper. I'm also fairly new to online fandoms. I thought shipping was supposed to be fun and part of that fun was being able to use your imagination and creativity to come up with pairings and scenarios that weren't spoon fed to you by the show. I must have missed a day of Shipping 101 or something.

anyway, i ship Danny with like everyone!! LOL i ship him with Rikki, with Aiden, with Flack, with Angell & i kinda like stuff with him & Mac, Adam, & the one fic i read about him Flack & Wolfe from Miami, lol. but i just can't hook him up with the canon pairing of him & Lindsay
altho, i do like the couple of 3some fics i've read about them & Flacki think tht fan shipping is purely a fantasy thing, as it should be cos really the writers are the ones tht say what will or will not happen with their characters at the end of the day. like, if we had any control, i kno most of us would already have Danny & Flack having hott man sex in the crime lab, hehehe
altho, i do like the couple of 3some fics i've read about them & FlackYou just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. Yes, I tried to read one or two of those. I was scarred for life.

I have problems with the storylines on their own, but I try to leave my shipping preferences out of it - that's a completely separate thing.
And that's why I steer clear from het shippers. It's interesting slash ones, the ones I know anyway, are so much more sane and laid back about fandom. I mean, ya can't self-insert into a pairing with two men without being blatantly called out for it, ya know? ;P
Seriously, though - I think slash fans are more sane and laid back because they expect canon to go in a different direction. Het fans a lot of the time act like it's a contest and that they only 'win' if their couple is the one that becomes canon. Meanwhile, slash fans aren't usually shipping in order to have it become canon.
In fandoms where there is canon slash, I think the crazy bleeds over into the slash fans more than in canons without The Gay.
But yeah, there are teh slash crazies in fandoms where gay is canon. Sad but true. :P Still have yet to see any slash fan be as crazy as het ones though.
